Processing the Logs

At our Boyne Falls sawmill location, the logs are processed into green dimensional lumber. We utilize sawing systems with the capacity to maintain our production levels, and achieve our quality standards for the end product.

We maintain an inventory of log home and log siding to give quick delivery responses to our customers and guarantee the quality we assure all of our end users.Finished log siding productsRough kiln-dried white cedar cants

All of our log home and log siding product inventory is computer controlled with an electric bar code system to insure that a sufficient amount of stock is maintained to meet customer and production needs.

SAWING PROCESS:

There are two stages of sawing. First there's 'canting' where the log is cut into a square and the first layer of sapwood is removed. Next is 're-sawing'. This process saws the cant into dimensional sizes needed to obtain the appropriate end log home and log siding product and inventory mix.
